Our House Blend Concert Series closer is an “80s Prom” event. Patrons will be transported back in time—without the assistance of a DeLorian—to the 1980s prom of their dreams. The evening’s entertainment will be a mixture of live performance and recorded music. Teased hair, neon, and rolled up suit coat sleeves are certainly encouraged but not required.
This prom includes all the activities 80s teens would expect, with an Arts Center twist: voting for Prom Queen & King (cash required, cast one vote for one dollar), dancing, period nostalgia and media on display, socializing—or sticking to yourself as a wallflower—enjoying catered hors d’oeuvres and a cash bar, because we aren’t teenagers any more. All ages are welcome to attend, though, as we have strict chaperones and a covered punch bowl.
EMCeed by 80s teen heartthrob Jim Kirkland, party-goers have an opportunity to submit a song dedication to their high school sweetheart (or heartbreaker!) up to one week prior to the event for a donation of $5 to AACA. The deadline to dedicate is April 26. Song dedications are limited on a first-come, first-served basis.
Seating for this concert is at tables. If you’d like to help cover the cost of catering, you can choose the “plus Catering” ticket—but this is optional—you can still enjoy refreshments with the regular ticket.
