ABOUT THE AUDITION
PARENTS OF MINOR CHILDREN: you must accompany your child into auditions and fill out the form unless you fill it out ahead of time. There are permissions and responsibilities that only parents are allowed to respond to. If you are not able to accompany your child into auditions, you must click the link above to fill out the form. You'll need work, school, and family schedules for May 22 - August 11, 2024.
We need a cast of actors, dancers, and singers ages eight through adult of a variety of genders and backgrounds. Although most characters are in the 6th - 12th grade range, we need adults and younger kids, so EVERYONE is welcome to audition! One character is of Asian background, any gender, with an age range of 9 - 11, but we can be flexible with age, so don’t let that keep you from auditioning.
Please come prepared to sing a solo of your choice of any style or genre. We will have an accompanist for sheet music and a speaker for a recorded track, so bring which ever is most comfortable for you.
You’ll also learn some simple choreographed movement, so bring or wear comfortable shoes for the dancing. Everyone will be dancing—yes, even adults!
Anyone who wants to help with the production in any capacity should attend auditions.
We STRONGLY recommend that you click the button above and fill out your audition form ahead of auditions. If you are not comfortable doing that, we will have iPads available and staff on hand to talk you through it, but it may put you at the back of the line.
For those selected, callbacks will be Wednesday, May 22 at 6:30 PM. Callbacks will include reading from the script and taking simple direction.
ABOUT THE MUSICAL
Middle school, ugh. It’s the worst. But Greg is determined not to be at the bottom of the popularity chart. He’ll leave that to his weird neighbor, Fregley. Or maybe Greg’s best friend, Rowley Jefferson. But it’s not going to be Greg…no way.
Jeff Kinney’s popular character takes center stage as Greg’s cartoon diary becomes a hilarious and heartfelt musical.
Will Greg’s plans to become popular lead him to sacrifice his one true friend? Can anyone avoid the dreaded Cheese Touch? Grab a hall pass and don’t be late for an adventure familiar to anyone who actually survived middle school.
