About the Instructor

A lifelong woodworker and retired educator, Tom Brown has too many pursuits and not enough time on his hands. Over the years he has restored antique furniture, worked in the furniture industry, built custom furniture, and taught industrial arts in the public schools. Since retiring he has returned to what he enjoys the most—building furniture, carving spoons, and piddlin' in his shop with hand tools. In his spare time he plays banjo with the North Georgia-based bluegrass band Spatial Effects.
