ABOUT THE AUDITION

We need a cast of actors, dancers, and singers ages eight through adult of a variety of genders and backgrounds. Come prepared to sing a solo and performed choreographed movement (bring change of shoes if necessary). Anyone who wants to help with the production in any capacity should attend auditions.

ABOUT THE MUSICAL

Set in Salzburg, Austria, 1938, on the eve of the Anschluss, a Roman Catholic postulate, Maria, is sent to serve as governess to the seven children of a former naval officer, Captain Georg von Trapp. When Maria discovers the children are treated like a ship’s crew (complete with a whistle! of all things), she sets out to help them—and The Captain—experience joy and music. The children thrive under her care, while a quiet attraction is blooms between the staid Captain and the free-spirited Maria.

Though the children are happily learning music and puppetry, the adults must choose between appeasing Nazis or staying loyal to Austria. One of the most beloved musicals of all time, The Sound of Music will capture your heart.
